Terms and Conditions

Reservations & Payments

When booking your trip or holiday direct with Wabs Safaris or Travel Agent or Booking Agent. Kindly note, date of arrival and departure, flight details when available, number of days on your travel itinerary, people traveling, sleeping arrangements. It helps us plan for you better to your expectation

With gorilla trekking safaris, booking in advance of at least 10 to 12 weeks is advised/recommended. Our client is advised to book in advance if there is interest in particular travel dates.

A 50% deposit is paid 60 days before client’s date of departure or after booking or by a date agreed between the client and Wabs Safaris. We advise the balance to be settled 30 days before the tour or by an alternative date agreed between the client and Wabs Safaris Uganda Limited. When Wabs Safaris sends in an official receipt or e-mail confirmation or personally calls you on our official line, the notification shows your booking is confirmed. Reservations made within thirty days of departure require the full amount paid after confirmation or booking.

Based on credit card regulations, credit card payments can be made with a 7-9% surcharge. In Uganda’s capital Kampala cash payments are accepted in Uganda Shillings and any foreign currency convertible at the forex bureaus.

Service Contract

When you make a booking with us legal obligations apply and your right to refund of money paid especially through bank transfers or any other way agreed by us, are limited by our terms and policies and by the conditions of the particular supplier. Once payment is made for the booking, it is deemed that you have read and understood the terms and conditions for the booking. Rates and price variations

Wabs Safaris reserves the right to vary published rates in the event of changes in exchange rates or price rises made by other service providers or other suppliers. If the cost of any service increase due to exchange rates fluctuation, price increase, tax changes or other reasons, you must pay the increase when notified. Wabs Safaris is not liable in any way if any increase occurs. Rates quoted are per tour, per night accommodation, per package. Car rental is based on a 24-hour period commencing from the time of pick-up throughout unless otherwise specified.

All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or changed without notice.

Tour Package Price

Tour package price quoted includes third-party insurance, transport with fuel and driver/guide allowance, National Park and activity fees associated with your itinerary, accommodation quoted, meals mentioned on your safari, bottled water in your safari vehicle.

Tour Package Inclusions and Exclusions

Prices for scheduled tours are subject to revision without notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances like currency fluctuations, increases in hotel rates, increases in airfares, local taxes etc.The package price has inclusions of transportation, third-party insurance based on your booking, activities paid for, entrance fees, accommodation and meals quoted, driver guide safari allowance and any other services paid for.

The Package Exclusion

Our clients will directly be responsible for their flight fares right from home country to/ from Uganda, traveler’s insurance visa fees, supplement services (laundry services in the hotels, room service) or optional activities not included in the itinerary, refreshments and beverages (between meals or meals not mentioned, alcohol and other refreshments), personal items or costs (Trekking helper/ porter), phone calls and souvenirs, tips. All bookings are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or changed without notice.

Cancellation / Refund of a tour / safari

Tours & Travel services & products are subject to the following cancellation

Refunds are made on written cancellations within sixty days prior the start of the trip. Refunds are given after deduction of cancellation fees charged by hotels, lodges and banks. It is based on the terms of service providers.

  • A cancellation fee of 20 % is charged on confirmed bookings i.e. when cancelled in a month or 30 days
  • 24 -14 days prior to departure of the safari charge of 50%
  • 3 -24 days before departure of the safari charge of 75 %
  • 48 hours or less No Refund as well as no show

Wabs Safaris reserves the right to deduct all expenses incurred from any advance payments made.

TOUR CANCELLATION

Wabs Safaris reserves the right to change any arrangement or to cancel the operation of any tour if political, environmental or global health, tour participant’s and local conditions necessitate. Wabs Safaris reserves the right to decline, accept or retain any member of a tour if it appears that person is likely to endanger the health or safety, comfort and enjoyment of others on the tour. Should you fail to join a tour by the required departure time or leave prior to its completion, Wabs Safaris is not responsible for any additional costs or charges on extra activities, extra days on accommodation and other service for a client.  No refund will be made for a client’s failure to be on a trip or complete a booked tour or safari.

REFUND OF UNUSED SERVICES

There is no refund on services not utilized when the tour starts. Gorilla & chimpanzee permits are non-refundable but can only be rescheduled before travel.
Wabs Safaris makes it a point to ensure client’s bookings are arranged well to suit their experience and satisfaction, Wabs Safaris cannot accept liability for any damage, injury or delay caused directly by Airlines, Restaurants, and Hotels, transport companies or any other service providers handling specific bookings.

ITINERARY CHANGES

In case of Airline reschedules or local conditions / regional may affect accommodation and routings. Should this occur Wabs safaris will endeavor to offer a suitable arrangement of similar value.Wabs Safaris also reserves the right to alter any route, itinerary, accommodation without prior notice to you when it is reasonable in the case of emergency.

Payment System

Our safari package prices are quoted in USD Dollars. Our clients can make payment by Visa cards or cash to Wabs Safaris. Our clients can also pay by credit card, subject to bank charges when transacting. We also accept local currency based on the exchange rates.

Accomodation

Accommodation in most of the lodges, hotels and camps have rooms starting from Single, Twin, Double rooms and triple or family rooms / cottages can also be arranged. If a client needs a particular room category single room or double bed specifics should be mentioned in advance for proper organization.
In most of the lodges offer both self-contained & non-self-contained rooms

Transport

In Bound Transport    

The type of safari vehicle depends on the season and client’s selection. Our safari vehicles are in good service maintained and are 4WD (4 x 4 WD) Our safari vans and land cruisers have a pop-up roof giving you the best safari experience together with our trained experienced English-speaking tour guides. Our guests travelling on a safari are offered vehicles based on the client numbers. Coasters, mini buses can also be booked for you before arrival.

Executive Car Hire is done on request for executive cars of their choice in a class of range rovers, land rovers, land cruisers and other types of cars.

Inbound Flights between different parks and destinations like flights from Entebbe, Murchison falls and Kidepo Valley National Park and Bwindi National Park. Inquire more for scheduled flights based on time, months and season of travelling. We work hand in hand with our partners for all in bound flights.

Ticketing Services (Out Bound)

With partnerships with different booking agents we book your tickets to all places round the world.

Ticket bookings are usually done in advance most especially for out bound travels to the rest of the world.

Chimpanzee tracking

Gorillas are tracked by clients of age 15 and above.
Please note, when one shows signs of any communicable Disease they will not be allowed to experience the activity.
Wabs safaris is not liable for any client’s rejection by the authorities to track gorillas.

In Uganda gorillas are tracked from either Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with 4 sectors in Bwindi or Mgahinga Gorilla Park

Chimpanzee Tracking

Chimpanzees are mainly tracked from Kibale, Budongo forest and Queen Elizabeth in Kyambura gorge or Kalinzu forest reserve.

Hence all instructions from the park ranger must be observed.

Liability Terms

Bookings are accepted based on the terms and condition that Wabs Safaris and agents only act as agents in matters such as tours, transport, inbound flight fares and accommodations.

Wabs Safaris does not accept liability for delay, loss, injury or damage on your tour/holiday. Wabs Safaris reserves the right to cancel / decline or change itineraries or bookings for any individual on any tour or other service where circumstances necessitate.

Wabs Safaris reserves the right to partner with subcontractors for services agreed upon to be offered. Any Kind of claim is subjected to the court’s jurisdiction in Uganda.

Wabs Safaris cannot be held responsible for loss of baggage. Our clients are advised to be vigilant with valuables when on safari.

Travel insurance And Medical

We strongly recommend that all clients purchase / buy travel insurance (Comprehensive Personal Travel Insurance policy) before visiting Uganda. Local evacuation coverage is available in the unlikely event of a medical emergency. Wabs Safaris can arrange your insurance during the course of your booking. We recommend that insurance covers loss of deposit and money related to cancellation, loss or damage to personal baggage and loss of money, medical expenses, additional expenses to cover hotel accommodation. Wabs Safaris cannot accept liability or damage for any accident or injury. Engagement in any kind of activity in Uganda is completely at the client’s own risk.

At the time of booking all our clients are believed to be in good health as well as during their safari in Uganda. Wabs Safaris cannot take on liability of any medical care. Clients are in complete charge of their own medical insurance coverage as well as evacuation. Clients are responsible for any specific medications they might need while on a safari in Uganda.

Privacy & Security

Privacy

Wabs Safaris has put in place electronic and managerial security procedures in order to protect personal information from loss and misuse, and from unauthorized access, modification, disclosure and interference. We work hard to protect your personal information in the same way we protect our own confidential information.

As our customer, you are in complete control of your travel planning needs. This includes controlling the use of information you provide to the Wabs Safaris for purposes of arranging and planning your travel experience and needs.

Wabs Safaris shall take all reasonable measures to ensure that the information that you provide will remain confidential and protected from unauthorized access but Wabs Safaris does not warrant against unauthorized access and will not be liable for any unauthorized access by any means to that information.

When you reserve travel services through Wabs Safaris, you will be deemed to have given your consent for the Wabs Safaris to provide information about you to the car rental agency, hotel, airline, third parties in order to successfully plan your travel arrangements and organization Wabs Safaris shall be entitled to use the information you provide to customize the content of our site to meet the needs of our customers and servicing you better.

Wabs Safaris will either send you an e-mail or call you confirming each reservation you transact online. Wabs Safaris does not share individual customer private profile information to third parties.

Amendment of Wabs Safaris terms & conditions is our reasonability and may be changed without notice.

Security Payments

All online payments are transmitted over a secure socket layer (SSL) connection.

Credit card information is transmitted immediately to a payment gateway solution via an encrypted port.

Wabs Safaris does not store your credit card number in any of our systems, it is used only within the time of the transaction then erased upon receipt from an acquiring bank.

All credit card payments receive an identification number that is proof of the transaction’s acceptance into the banking system. This identification number can be used to trace any transaction back to the credit card issuer (for example, the bank that issued the Visa card or Master Card.

Personal information is destroyed or de-identified when no longer needed

Wabs Safaris makes it a point to ensure that we correctly represent products and services with quality and reliability. Client’s satisfaction and level of enjoyment on a safari varies from person to person and customers, rating and valuing our travel services and those of our travel service partners can be done differently.

The information provided on our website and during the process from your first inquiry to the time of booking, and making a payment, portrays a good service to our customers. There is no guarantee that you get similar satisfaction as perception points through satisfaction differ by individual.

Motivation comes from serving our clients in a better way.

There is no assurance that clients may have the same experience over time because these all depend on seasons that change every trip and Wabs Safaris lives to serve all clients in a more authentic nature.

Complaints

Please inform the driver guide right away in case of any challenge during your trip. Some issues can be resolved either by the driver guide or by the head office (Wabs Safaris). With our staff ready to pick up your calls 24 hours a day.
In case a client has a complaint, it should be written in details and should be sent to the manager of Wabs Safaris within 30 days after completion of the trip, if no compliant is put across no claim will be put against Wabs Safaris.
