Kidepo Valley National Park is located in north-eastern side of Uganda. Kidepo valley is known for its true wilderness of an African safari because of its wildlife and nature in the wilderness.
On our 4-day wildlife safari we get to Kidepo Valley National Park by Air transport from Entebbe to Kidepo and by road through Kampala-Gulu road on a 10-hour drive with a stopover for lunch before reaching the park. This uncovers the scenic flight views from the sky as you fly all the way from Entebbe to Kidepo.
The park is also known for having large herds of African cape buffalos and rare animals like the cheetah which is the fastest land mammal and the ostrich which is the fastest flightless bird.
Kidepo valley national park can also be accessed by road from Kampala to Kidepo Valley National Park, travel time being 10 hours drive. With the rolling plains of the area, Kidepo valley national park is remote yet the most amazing park that gives you a feel of a real African safari experience through landscape, wildlife, game drives through the Narus valley, cultural experience with the people (Karamojong’s) living around the park. Not forgetting the hike to mount Morungole and the indigenous Ik tribe in the mountains.

Day 1 Drive from Kampala/Entebbe to Kidepo Valley National Park with a Stopover for Lunch
Travel Time from Kampala to Kidepo valley is 10 hours drive.

You will be picked up early in the morning from Kampala and drive to Kidepo Valley National Park in northern Uganda with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary home to the Rhinos in the wilderness of Nakasongola District expect to see other animals as well. You will be guided on a trek by the rangers to observe the rhinos and later embark on the road trip to kidepo Valley National Park which is a wilderness of African game drives.
Rhino tracking is optional depending on departure time to the park.
Day 2 Full Day Game Drive through the Park

After your early morning breakfast, drive into the wilderness of Kidepo Valley National Park. You will sight a number of wildlife and landscapes. The Narus Valley is home to many animals and bird species, Kidepo valley has the Narus valley as its only source of water sources in the park. Did you know that ostriches are found in the northern side of the Park. You will have a chance to sight animals as such the largest herds of Buffaloes, Zebras, and Waterbucks as well as rare species of birds such as northern horn bills, Guinee fowl. We will head back to the lodge for lunch and later head back to other routes of the park and later drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Hike Mount Morungole and Ik Tribe Visit

After your early morning breakfast, we will encounter the trek to Mount Morungole in Kidepo Valley National Park. Get ready to hike to the mountain which is also home to the indingous IK tribe. Visit the IK homestead and learn their different traditions, cultures and lifestyle. We then go back to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4 Transfer from Kidepo Valley National Park to Kampala/Entebbe
Travel Time from Kidepo Valley National Park to either Kampala or Entebbe is 10 hours
Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch
After your early morning breakfast, we will set out on the long scenic drive back to Kampala.
Optional choice: A night can be spent in Gulu to make the journey comfortable since it’s a long route to Kampala.

General Tips:
Kidepo valley national can also be explored on land and by airport transport for about 1 to 2 hours. The drive is 10 hours from Kampala to Kidepo.
- The park is the true wilderness of an African safari experience and one gets to view the eastern rift valley on the hike to Morungole mountain
- Mount Morungole stretches up to 2750 meters above sea level. It means one has to be fit for the 7 to 8 km hike to the Morungole
What to bring on your safari:
- Walking boots for the hike and the game walk.
- Sunscreen is essential.
- Insect repellant is recommended
- Sun glass may be required
- Light cloths are at times required during day time
