3 Day Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale Forest National Park (Primate Capital)
This 3-day amazing chimp tracking in the primate capital of the world (Kibale Forest National Park gives you a memorable experience, one of the reasons for you to visit Uganda. with the Bigodi wetland walk on the edges of Kibale Forest. The park has other primate species like the vervet Monkeys, Colobus Monkey, Grey-cheeked Mangabey and birds as well, Kibale forest national park has about 300 bird species hence being a good haven for birding. Our highlight being the chimpanzees, please note this trek can take about 3-4 hours and on seeing the chimps we observe them for 1 hour. Kibale forest is also a good spot for chimpanzee habituation which gives you much time with the chimps in their jungle and this can also be booked on request.

Day 1 Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park Stopover in Fort Portal (Kingdom)
Travel time from Entebbe or Kampala to Kibale Forest is 5 hours

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 am with a scenic drive to Kibale National Park, located in western Uganda. You will use the Kampala to Fort Port road.
We shall stopover for lunch enroute, as you continue with a scenic view of the tea estates and forest reserve. Fort Portal has scenic views of Rwenzori Mountain a volcanic landscape this can be witnessed from Fort portal town to the park, arrival at the park in the afternoon with a check-in into your lodge.
Day 2 Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National Park & Nature Walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

After your early morning breakfast, we shall transfer to the park visitor centre at exactly 7:00 am to meet the park ranger guides for registration and briefing about the trek, dos and don’ts during chimpanzee trekking experience. You will be assigned to a group and each group depending on the number of people available shall be given a ranger. You will then trek into Kibale forest to track the Chimpanzees in their community setting. The park has other primate species such as Vervet Monkeys, Colobus Monkey, Grey-cheeked Mangabey and birds as well, Kibale forest national park has about 300 bird species hence being a good haven for birding. Our highlight are the chimpanzees, please note this trek can take about 3-4 hours and this also depends on chimp’s movements and when you find the chimpanzee’s you will spend one-hour observing and taking pictures of the chimpanzees through the Kibale forest. It is a thrilling but also a memorable experience. After the trek you will head back to the information centre where your certificates will be given to you. Return to the lodge for lunch in the afternoon, transfer to the Bigodi Wetlands on the edge of Kibale forest in Bigodi swamp which is a good haven for birders. Since Kibale forest is the capital of primates in Africa, other primates include olive baboons, red-tailed, black-and-white colobus, blue monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey and l’Hoest’s. we shall do the Swamp walk and the community walk. In the swamp walk, you will walk into the wetlands to sight wildlife such baboons and other creatures. After the swamp walk, encounter the community walk which is usually done by the local people or guides in the community. While in the community walk, we shall encounter local coffee processing and we shall also be taught how to make local beers through brewing. You will return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe
Travel time from Kibale forest National Park is 5 hours

After breakfast at the lodge you will check out of the lodge and with a transfer to Kampala, you have packed lunch enroute. On arrival in Kampala, your guide will drive you to the hotel in either Kampala or Entebbe. Or drive back on time for your evening flight back home.

General Tips on your safari:
- Kindly note the age limit for chimpanzee tracking is 15 and above
- Permits are limited book your permits in advance.
- Porter (Helper) whose is to help carrying the bags and support the client when required. For the trekking helper an additional fee of US$ 15 is charged.
- Health is key all trekkers as its key to have your safari and trek the Gorillas in a heath condition. Usually clients with infectious diseases like flu are not allowed to track reason being it can easily affect the endangered chimps. With the chimp DNA being 98.7 % close to that of humans they can easily get affected.
