Giant Gorilla Trekking Fly-In Tour Uganda
On this 3-day Gorilla Trekking Fly in safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you are able to board a 1-hour flight from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in south western Uganda. Bwindi is home to the humble and endangered mountain gorillas with more than half of the gorillas left in Bwindi Park. While on your 3-day safari you will use a scheduled flight with two options to use when landing that is Kisoro or Kihihi Airstrip depending on the location of your accommodation.
One can also opt to take a road trip to Bwindi but the drive is long that is 9 to 10 hours from Kampala to Bwindi.
Bwindi Impenetrable national park is home to 120 mammals, 350 bird species, reptiles, and a number butterflies and tree species. It is important to note;
Bwindi National Park, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a home to the endangered giant mountain gorillas and it covers about 321 square km between 1,160 meters and 2,600 meters above sea level. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has 4 gorilla tracking sectors that is Buhoma in the north, Ruhija in the east; Rushaga in the south and lastly Nkuringo in the south west. And with about 19 habituated gorilla families.

Day 1 Morning Flight to Western Uganda with an Afternoon Boat Cruise on Lake Mutanda
Flight travel time from Entebbe to Kisoro or kihihi is 1-2 hours with a transfer to the lodge

Based on the flight time, you will be transferred to Entebbe airport for your flight (1 hour & a few minutes) to kisoro or Kihihi in southwestern Uganda, you will meet your driver who will drive you off to your lodge or resort near Lake Mutanda with a serene scenic of the virunga mountain volcanoes. After lunch you will embark on a boat ride on Lake Mutanda surrounded by a number of highlands and islands on the lake.
Entebbe – Kihihi (Bwindi Impenetrable National Park) & Entebbe Kisoro both have morning and afternoon flights on arrival and departure. Time may vary due to weather conditions of the routes used.
Day 2 Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will wake up by 6:00 am for a quick hot morning breakfast, transfer to your tracking Sector of Bwindi National Park. We shall meet the ranger/guides at the Information Centre for registration and briefing. You will be briefed about the guidelines of the gorilla trekking activity (experience); you will be given a gorilla group to trek. At this point in time you meet the ranger guide and walk to the jungle tracking for the gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Did you know Bwindi in Rusahaga section has a small water fall called Bayenda falls although this is a different activity from our trek. The sounds and melodies of birds praising the creator are sighted while on the trek. Explore the jungle for other wildlife such as monkeys, plants and singing birds. The Bwindi ranger guide make the trek interesting as they pass on more information in diversity of Bwindi Impenetrable forest, after a while trekking (trekking can take 1 to 4 hours or less before facing the gorillas) and tracking you will finally face the gorillas. You will observe the giant gorillas for one hour as they feed, relax in their habitat. This is the best time for photography moments as you are advised to carry your cameras with you. After the trekking experience you will head back to the park information center to pick certificates. You will then meet your driver guide and transfer back to the lodge enjoying, overnight after your dinner.
Day 3 Scenic Flight back to Entebbe
Flight Time: Transfer to the Airstrip from the lodge for Flight from Kisoro to Entebbe 1 hour & a few minutes (Flight time)
Meal Plan: Breakfast
After your early morning breakfast, you will transfer to airfield in Kisoro or kihihi for your flight that departs at 8:25 am in the morning to Entebbe Airport. With a drop to the hotel or wait for your flight back home.

General Tips on your Gorilla safaris:
- Health is key all trekkers as its key to have your safari and trek the gorillas in a heath condition. Usually clients with infectious diseases like flu are not allowed to track reason being it can easily affect the endangered giant chimps or gorillas.
- The age limit for gorilla tracking is 15 years and above.
- Booking of your gorilla and chimpanzee permits is done in advance in order for you not to miss out on the experience when permits are fully booked.
- A porter can be hired in case you want to be carried for trekking, bags. For the trekking porter or helper, a fee of US$ 15 is charged
- Your flash must be off during photography.
- The recommended distance between clients and gorillas is important for safety
What to bring on your safari:

Domestic Flights information:
- We shall fly to either Kisoro or Kihihi airstrips in Bwindi area
- Please contact us for flight schedules because they on the seasons.
- Standard checked luggage should have: For hand luggage, 30cm height, by 53cm length, by 23cm width.
- For soft bags of 60cm height, by 45cm length 33cm width.
- Luggage allowance for domestic flights within Uganda is limited to 15 kgs per person. Additional luggage of up to 75kgs excess may be allowed at an extra cost. $ 3 is charged by the airline for each extra kilo.
- Flights to and from Murchison Falls National and Kidepo Valley National park operate with a minimum of 4 Passengers. Please note that if the number is less than required 4 passengers, the flight rule of additional top up for missing passengers applies. - Children under 2 years of age fly free provided they have no seat occupancy
