This 3 day Murchison falls National Park safari starts from Kampala with a pick up from the Airport and transfer to the park. On this safari you will see a diversity of wildlife such as mammals as well as bird species in the savannahs and wood lands.
The park is located north east of the country and it’s the oldest and largest park in Uganda and its home to the world’s strongest river where the Nile waters surge in a 7-meter gorge with a depth of 45 meter down forming the famous falls.
It is also home to about 80 mammals, 400 bird species and a number of tree species such as King fisher, African Fish Eagle, Goliath herons at the delta etc.
On this 3 day Murchison falls wildlife safari you will encounter a number of activities from your pick up for a road trip to the only wild habitat of the rhinos in Nakasongola, while here you will track the rhinos on foot an experience that is breath taking but memorable and a life time moment. The game drives on the northern side of the park sighting a number of animals right from antelope’s, elephants, buffalos, the big cats such as lions, your boat cruise safari that takes you up stream to the bottom of the falls sighting a number of game such as birds on the trees and rocks at the river banks, animals cooling off heat at the river banks not forgetting crocodiles in a profusion of hippos.
When the boat safari is finished you board off for a 45 minutes’ water fall hike to the top of the falls on the southern side and while here you witness the falls and how the Nile surges into a 7-meter gorge to form the world’s strongest falls.

Day 1 Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park with a Stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary or Optional Game Drive

You will be picked up at 7:00 am from either Kampala or Entebbe from your hotel by our guide and drive northwest of Uganda to Murchison Falls through the Kampala – Gulu road with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary home to the rhinos (3 hours drive). Seeing rhinos in their natural environment and re-introduction sanctuary for about 1 hour. The Rhino Sanctuary is the only place in the wild where rhinos can be sighted in the wild. The rangers will guide you to the Rhinos after a short brief where you will sight them from a distance and the experience is memorable watching the rhinos on foot. We drive out of the sanctuary and proceed back to the main road with stopover for lunch later proceeding to Murchison Falls National Park were by we shall reach late in the afternoon. Drive into the park and check in at the lodge, relax as you wait for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Morning Game Drive, Boat cruise on River Nile to the Bottom of the Murchison Falls with a Top of the Falls Hike

You will wake up at 6.00 am for your early morning breakfast then head for the morning game drive which may be a good chance for sighting cats such as Lions, Hyenas and Leopard early morning. Animals such as the Buffaloes, Elephants Giraffes, Antelopes. Murchison Falls National Park has the south and northern sides which are divided by the Nile River. The northern part that is covered by savannah and woodland with a number of animals as opposed to the southern region which is mainly covered by forest. After lunch drive out for a 2 -hour Launch Cruise on River Nile which sets off at Parra docking area, to the bottom of the Murchison Falls. You will sight wild animals such as hippos in a profusion of crocodiles. Land mammals such as giraffes, elephants, antelopes drinking and cooling off the heat by the banks of river Nile. After reaching the bottom of Murchison Falls, off the boat hike to the top of the falls for about 45 minutes with a scenic view of the falls along the trail. On reaching the top you will find your guide waiting to drive you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Transfer from Murchison Falls to either Kampala or Entebbe
