On this 4-day safari and chimpanzee tracking experience gives you an adventurous discovery in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Queen Elizabeth National park is located in south-western Uganda in the western Rift valley region. Queen Elizabeth National Park has wildlife in diversity, landscapes and a rich ecosystem. Queen Elizabeth is Uganda’s second largest park in Uganda with diverse savannah plains, scenic kasenyi crater lakes, woodland. Wild life in Queen Elizabeth include, antelopes, elephants, lions, leopard, you will sight hippos in a profusion of crocodiles.
The park is a good birding haven with over 600 bird species in diversity. Queen Elizabeth National Park is divided into two sections that is north where most game drives and boat safaris take place and South sector known Ishasha famous for tree climbing lions. The park has two areas for chimpanzee tracking that is Kyambura gorge and Kalinzu with Kyambura gorge in the east of Queen Elizabeth and tracked most.
The 4-day safari experience and chimpanzee tracking takes you through a serenity of scenic game drives, boat cruise safari on the kazinga where lakes Edward and George meet to form the kazinga channel.
The kazinga channel is a congregation of both land mammals and aquatic animals and bird species not forgetting chimpanzee tracking in kyambura gorge with the famous tree climbing lions of Ishasha.
Queen Elizabeth national park also has the katwe explosion crater where the locals in the community get to extract the salt from Lake katwe (the explosion crater has existed for a million plus years). This is an activity that you may encounter when booked for.
Day 1 Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a Scenic Crater Drive in the Park
Travel time from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park is 7 – 8 hours

After breakfast or early pick from the airport, your guide will drive towards western Uganda to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Have a lunch stopover in Mbarara town and then continue with the road trip to the park. You will drive to your lodge in the park in a serene and scenic view of the park later having evening dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2 Morning Game Drive in the Kasenyi Plains & Afternoon Boat Cruise Safari

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
You will have an early morning breakfast and then head for the morning game drive in the park for wildlife viewing. You will drive along the popular Kasenyi Plains track with a number of animals such as antelopes, elephants, buffaloes etc. Return to the lodge for lunch as you get ready for boat safari.
Drive to the Mweya peninsula for your 2 hour boat cruise safari on the Kazinga Channel where lakes Edward and George meet, the area has a number of animals such as hippos in a profusion of crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles with a number of bird species such as the White-faced Whistling, Spur-winged Plovers, Squacco Heron Ibis, Fish Eagles, Skimmers, Egrets, Pelicans, Fish Eagle, Pink and white backed Pelicans, Long tailed Cormorants, African Jacana, Yellow backed Weavers, open-billed Stork, Water-Thick knee, Pied kingfishers, Wattled Plovers, the Black Crake and the Knob-billed among others. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Chimp Tracking in Kyambura Gorge and Afternoon Game Drive in Ishasha for Tree Climbing Lions

Have your early morning breakfast then drive to Kyambura Gorge for the Chimp tracking adventure. On the search for the chimps also look out for a number of wildlife such as monkeys, elephants, lions and hippos, they congregate at the river banks of Kyambura. On this chimp tracking adventure, we get to hike the gorge.
After your experience, we shall drive back to the lodge for lunch, then transfer to Ishasha in the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for your afternoon game drive. This sector is famous for the Tree-climbing Lions and these are usually spotted on tree branches in lshasha. Expect to sight more wildlife such as Waterbuck, Elephants, Buffaloes and Hippos with a transfer to the lodge for the overnight
Day 4 Brief Morning Game Drive for Tree Climbing Lions & Transfer Back to Kampala with a Stopover at the Equator Line Experience
Travel time from Queen Elizabeth to Kampala is 7 – 8 hours

You will drive out for a brief early morning game drive after breakfast in the southern sector of the park for a game drive on the search for tree climbing lions, expect to sight wildlife such as kobs, elephants and whispers of the wild. Drive back to the lodge for breakfast, check out of the lodge on a road trip back to Kampala, with a stopover for lunch in Mbarara. Before reaching Kampala, you will stopover at the equator for the equator line experience. Continue with the journey to Kampala in the evening with a transfer to hotel or late transfer to the airport.
The brief game drive will also depend on your flight time in Entebbe.

General Tips on your safari:
- The age limit for chimpanzee tracking is 15 years and above.
- Booking of chimpanzee permits is done in advance in order for you not to miss out on the experience
- Health is key for your safari for chimpanzee tracking, usually clients with infectious diseases like flu are not allowed to track reason being it can easily affect the chimps with its DNA of 98.7 %.
- If our clients have enough time we recommend a visit the southern sector of the park famous with tree climbing lions of Ishasha. This would require an extra day for the activity.
- Lion Experiential in Queen Elizabeth National Park getting close to the lions, it involves getting off the main game track and driving to the unbeaten paths with your guide and the Uwa Doctor.
- Hot Air Balloon Safaris is also offered in Queen Elizabeth NP and can be booked on the client’s discretion.
What to bring on your safari:
