Day 1 Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park En-route Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Travel Time from Kampala to Murchison falls is 6 – 7 hours

Accommodation: Mid-range and Budget: Murchison River Lodge or Fort Murchison, Luxury: Parra Safari Lodge & Bakers Lodge

You will be picked up at 7:00 am from either Kampala or Entebbe from your hotel by our guide and drive northwest of Uganda to Murchison Falls through Kampala – Gulu road with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary home to the rhinos (3 hours drive). Seeing rhinos in their natural environment or the wild and re-introduction sanctuary. The rangers will guide you to the Rhinos after a short brief where you will sight them from a distance and the experience is a memorable trek of the rhinos on foot for 1 hour. We will leave the sanctuary and proceed back to the main road with stopover for lunch later proceeding to Murchison Falls National Park were by we shall reach late in the afternoon. Drive to the park and later to the lodge, check in relax as you wait for dinner at the lodge

Optional evening Game Drive depending on time of arrival at lodge or accommodation booked.

Day 2 Game Drive in the Park, Afternoon Boat Cruise to the Bottom of the Falls & Top of the Falls Hike

You will wake up by 6.00 am for an early cup of hot coffee or tea and drive out for the early morning game drive. With chance to sight nocturnal animals such as Lions, Hyenas, Leopard active hours for hunting.

Murchison Falls National Park has the south and northern sector. The northern part is covered by savannah and woodland has a number of animals compared to the southern sector which is mainly covered by the forest. Therefore, the game drives are done in the northern area of Murchison Falls. Expect to sight animals such as the Antelopes, Elephants, Buffaloes and Giraffes. After your game drive return to the lodge. After lunch drive to the dock at Parra for a boat cruise safari on River Nile, cruise to the bottom of the Murchison Falls, expect a diversity of wildlife sighting that is crocodiles in a profusion of schools of hippos.  Land mammals such buffaloes, elephants and antelopes, diversity of bird species with sounds and sights can also be sighted at the ridges besides the Nile River. As you reach the bottom of Murchison falls you will witness how the Nile waters surge in a 7-meter gorge with a depth of approximately 40 meters to form the “most powerful water falls in the world” After your wildlife boat cruise safari, you will dock off for the water fall hike in great view of the Murchison falls as you hike to the top for 45 minutes hike. You will find your tour guide ready to drive you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Note. If your accommodation is on the southern side of the park you will board a ferry to the northern side for the game drive and back on the side where your accommodation was booked.

Day 3 Chimpanzee Tracking in Budongo Forest with a Transfer to Kampala / Entebbe

Travel time from Budongo Forest to Kampala is 6 – 7 hours

Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch

You will have your early morning breakfast and meet with the budongo rangers for briefing and head for the trek into the Budongo Forest to track the Chimpanzees (habituated chimps. It is easy to track the chimps with a start from Budongo Eco Lodge, this may make the trek short and the Chimps are easy to find. At the same time the trek can become long when the chimps move deep into the jungle and we may miss out on seeing them. 1 hour is spent observing the Chimps after tracking them, we shall return to the lodge, have lunch. Check out of the lodge and drive to Kampala or Entebbe.

• When going for tracking in Budongo Forest, its recommended to sleep at Budongo Eco or nearby lodges Like Murchison River Lodge on your last night.
• Optional activities are also highly recommended that is Lion Experiential where you get to trek the lions with the Uwa Doctor.
• Hot air balloon safari is an amazing activity where by you view Murchison falls from above.
• Visit to the Nile Delta for a boat cruise can also be prepared based on your time.
