2 Day Park Shoe Bill Island Tour
Enjoy your 2-day Park shoebill island tour on one of Uganda’s hidden island resorts blended with a number of activities and birding experience.
Park shoebill is located on South West of Entebbe town on Bussi, 2”49 north of the Equator on Bussi Island which is found on the spectacular and beautiful Lake Victoria. The island is only about 8 kilometres from Entebbe town and can be reached within 40 min by motorized canoe or 15 min by speedboat. It is in the vicinity of Entebbe international airport and has a great view of the Entebbe Peninsula
Bussi Island is home to Mabamba, which, is categorized as an important Birding Area and is a RAMSAR site. The island is home to over 280 birds species with several tree species and other flora. The sitatunga or marshbuck, a rare swamp-dwelling antelope is one of the animal species that can be found in the Mabamba swamp.
Activties at Park Shoebill that one may engage in include Bird watching, Mabamba tour, Nature walks, the adrenaline zip lining, sport fishing and Zorb ball on the waters on Lake Victoria.
The island also offers accommodation in well vanished cottages as well private camping hence making your stay colorful.
Day 1 Pick-up from your Location with a Transfer to Park Shoe Bill
Travel Time from Either Entebbe or Munyonyo is 45 minutes in a motorized canoe or boat
Accommodation: Camping or Cottages
You will be picked up from your location with a transfer to Entebbe a 45 minutes’ boat ride to Bussi Island. On arrival you will be welcomed with a check in at the lodge, have a mouthwatering lunch and later head out for your zip lining and Zorb ball on the Lake Victoria waters
Later in the night you will have a camp fire at the island enjoying nyama choma as the night goes by. Overnight and dinner at the lodge.
You may encounter other optional activities like after noon fishing on the island is a great experience on the island. Swimming may also be explored
Day 2 Morning Nature Walk with a Transfer back to Mainland
Travel time from the island to mainland is 45 minutes boat cruise
Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch
After your early morning breakfast, you will head out to the forest embarking on the nature walk into the island forest enjoying views of nature and the sounds made by the different bird species. After lunch you will take a boat ride back to the mainland in Entebbe.
