Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a bio diverse, mountainous area in southwestern Uganda occupying 331km2 of forest cover in serene forest cover. Bwindi Park is covered with shrubs and bamboo and hilltops. The weather in Bwindi is ever chilly because of the immerse canopy.

And shared by three districts in the Albertine rift valley, Kabale, Rukungiri and Kisoro and some portion in Kanungu. Its home to the largest number of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, which feed on roots, leaves and fruits from the parks diverse trees and fern species. Restricted numbers of viewing permits help protect the endangered gorilla families. It was aslo declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

Kibale Forest National Park is located in western Uganda in Kabarole district, near Fort Portal town and covers 795 square kilometers of tropical rainforest. The park was gazetted in 1932 as a forest reserve. After years had passed the forest was declared a National Park in 1993.  The Park is also called the primate capital of the world with a number of Chimpanzees dominant in the forest.  The parks temperatures are measured at a range between 14-27 Degrees hence being relatively cool. It takes about a 2 hour drive from Kasese and 6 hours from Kampala to Kibale forest National Park.

Kibale Forest National Park is home to over 1,500 chimpanzee making the park a good haven for chimpanzee trekking experience in Uganda

Kidepo Valley National Park is found in the north-eastern corner of Uganda bordering South Sudan and Kenya.  The park covers an area of 1,442 square kilometers and has an altitude ranging between 914 m and 2,750 m. 
It is about 700 km from Kampala and it happens to be a long road trip to a remote but true wildlife safari destination. Kidepo has the largest buffalo herds and over 475 bird species.

Lake Bunyonyi is found in the South Western part of Uganda lying between Kisoro and Kabale and also being close to the Rwandan border. It is Uganda’s deepest lake with 900 m. With this Lake Bunyonyi is also said to be the second deepest fresh water lake in Africa with the scenic beauty of its 29 islands and these can be tour on a boat or canoe

The name Bunyonyi means “place of many little birds” and a good birding haven with its scenic green terraced hills of the community. Travel time from Kampala to Lake Bunyonyi is 7 to 10-hours drive from Kampala, 2 hours from Kigali Rwanda.

Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest savannah park out of the 10 parks covering about 370 square kilometers. Its altitude ranging between 1220-1828 meters above sea level. 
Lake Mburo National park is the closest park and which is easily accessed via the Kampala Mbarara highway in Kiruhura district in western Uganda, with Mbarara to its East and Isingiro to the South.

The drive takes 4 hours to get to Lake Mburo National Park with a distance of about 240 Km.

Lake Mutanda is a popular destination for canoeing in western Uganda and strategically located in Kisoro District in south western Uganda near the gorilla park. The volcanic Lake gives you a chance to canoe around the shores with chance of sighting land scape, hills, communities and some bird species.  Lake Mutanda is home to a number of lodges at the shores giving you a fabulous experience on your safaris.

The lake is nestled in the foothills of the virunga Mountain range in the albertine rift at an altitude of 1,800 meters, the three volcanoes within the range, that are partly located in Uganda, namely: Mount MuhaburaMount Sabinyo and Mount Gahinga, can be viewed from Lake Mutanda.

Mabamba Swamp is home to a number of shoebill storks and one and best spot for Shoebill storks. Its bill is more like in the shape of a shoe, it’s a unique bird species that every tourist would like to see. The shoe bill is a solitary bird with a unique bill with clapping sounds that come out of it. The Shoebill’s lifespan is 25 years.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is located in the south western part of Uganda and the park covers about 33.7 square kilo meters at high altitude range. It is about 10 km south of Kisoro and also boarded by the virunga ranges and the virunga national park in the Drc and the volcanoes national park in Rwanda to the south.

Mgahinga national park covers the forest northern slopes of the virunga volcanoes with the 3 volcanoes of Muhavura at a height of 4127 M, Mount Gahinga at 3474 and mount sabinyo at 3645 m.  Mgahinga National Park also lies between an altitude of 2227 m to 4127 m and the 3 virunga conservation area covers 434 square kilometers
The park is home to about 76 mammals such as elephants, Buffalos, giant forest hog, bushbucks and the rare cats such as the leopard, hyena’s

Mountain Elgon National Park is located at close proximity with Mbale district in eastern Uganda. Mountain Elgon is an extinct volcanic mountain with the largest caldera in east Africa. Its cover is 1145 square kilometers found at the border of Uganda and Kenya. Mountain Elgon is the fourth highest mountain in east Africa.
Mountain Elgon has a number of peaks with the highest being Wagagai on the Ugandan side with a height of 4321 m. other peaks may include Jackson’s Summit, Kiongo at 4300 meters and Mubiyi at 4210 meters.

Mountain Elgon National Park is home to a number of mammals such as buffalos, antelopes, elephants, duikers, oribi, desfassa water bucks among others.

Located 305 km  from Kampala city and its situated in the Murchison Conservation Area, it was  founded in 1952, it’s also famous because of the Murchison falls where the Nile surges into a  7 meters gorge that later  bursts and plunges into a  43 meter drop  below forming the most powerful waterfalls in the world

Murchison Falls National Park has two reserves which include Karuma which is about 720 square kilometers and Bugungu wildlife reserves 748 square kilometers. The park is located in North West Uganda in Buliisa district and Nwoy district in Northern Uganda.

The mountain is situated within the Rwenzori Mountains National Park, its highest point is Mt. Stanley’s Margherita peak with 5,109 m, which is the third highest in the whole of Africa. UNESCO named the Rwenzori Mountains National Park a World Heritage site since 1994.

The 3 Water Falls

Sipi Falls is home to three waterfalls located in Eastern Uganda in the district of Kapchorwa, northeast of Sironko and Mbale. The mighty waterfalls lies on the upper edge of Mount Elgon cascading down to the foot hills over 7 km , on the foothills to form a series of beautiful waterfall in eastern Uganda culminating in a 99 meter drop at an altitude of 1775 m.  The three falls separated by steep hillsides and longest among the 3 water falls with a scenic depth of 95 meters drop making it the most eye catching attraction in the region.

The sipi falls are just outside a small trading center in kapchorwa and 60 km from Mbale town. While at sipi you shall have view of the nearby Elgon Peaks

The centre cares for rescued animals, often victims of bush meat trade, habitat destruction, or illegal trade. Individuals that can make it in the wild, are released back. We don’t buy animals nor use them for entertainment, but rather as ambassadors to help save and maintain those in the wild, wild! Listen to interpretative talks from our; keepers, guides work with animals every day.
