Semuliki National Park lies on an area of 220 sq. km, it is found in Bwamba County in Western Uganda in Bundibugyo district just near Fort portal town 70 km. Semuliki National Park harbours an extension of Congo’s Ituri Rainforest.
Semuliki National Park is home to over 52 species of mammals such as buffalos, vervet monkeys, elephants, white tailed mongoose, over 400 bird species in diversity of tree species. Semuliki national park also known to be a good birding for bird lovers, birds such as the Congo serpent Eagle, Long Tailed Hawk, Nkulengu Rail, Black Wattled Hornbill, Red billed Helmet shrike, Ituri Batis and the black winged starling among other birds that may be sighted.
Sempaya hot springs
The magnificent female hot springs have high temperatures of about 100 degrees Celsius and this is as a result of geothermal energy beneath the earth’s crust. Semuliki is also home to a male hot spring that is also worth visiting. The hot springs can of boil eggs and this is usually tried out by clients

Day 1 Transfer from Kampala to Semuliki National Park & An optional Evening Game Drive
Travel time from Kampala to semuliki National park is hours 7- 8 hours.

You will be picked up from the hotel early morning after breakfast with a transfer to Semuliki National Park via Kampala –Fort portal road. You will stop over for lunch along the way, later embark on the journey to the park where you will check in at the lodge. After relaxing and refreshing at the lodge, you may drive through the park for an evening game drive that starts in the evening depending on your arrival through the park you will observe a number of animals. Semuliki provides a habitant for over 60 mammals such as the African buffalo, leopard, hippos, mona monkey, bush babies, African elephant and the pygmy scaly tailed flying squirrel, chimps and olive baboons. We will later return for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2 Morning Visit Sempaya Hot springs & An Afternoon Game Drive

After having a cup of hot coffee or tea depending on your accommodation location, we shall drive out and visit the Sempaya hot springs (female hot springs). These springs have a geyser that shoots up from the 8 meters hole, and water has high temperatures of about 100 % Celsius. The male hot spring is 30 minutes’ drive from the female. Did you know!! The hot water is amazingly can boil eggs like a cooking stove springs within a few minutes and this lives you in wonders.
We will also sight a number of bird species such as the Blue breasted Kingfisher and various primates such as the red-tailed monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey etc.
Later we may pass by a stream not known to many, Mungilo seasonal stream where you will have an opportunity of seeing a number of beautiful birds and it will be a great time for a birder. You might have a chance of seeing/trekking chimpanzees in this park, this happens in either the morning or evening hours although is this a different activity not part of the 3-day safaris.
We shall drive back to the lodge for lunch, relax a bit, you will head out for evening go for a game drive and if lucky you might spot the leopard on a tree through our trail, others animals buffaloes, antelopes, elephants, and lions, crocodiles in a profusion Hippos will be seen along river semuliki. It is also a major river along DRC & Ugandan border.
Day 3 Transfer back to Kampala
Travel time from semuliki National park to Kampala is hours 7- 8 hours.

You will have breakfast at the lodge, after then embark on your journey to Kampala with a stopover in Fort portal for lunch. Arriving Kampala or Entebbe for your evening Flight.
