3 Day Giant Gorilla Trekking Experience
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your 3-day gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park a bio diverse, mountainous area in southwestern Uganda occupying 331km2 of forest cover in serene forest cover. Bwindi Park is covered with shrubs and bamboo and hilltops. The weather in Bwindi is ever chilly because of the immerse canopy. And shared by three districts in the Albertine rift valley, Kabale, Rukungiri and Kisoro. Its home to the largest number of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, which feed on roots, leaves and fruits from the parks diverse trees and fern species. Restricted numbers of viewing permits help protect the endangered gorilla families.
Bwindi Impenetrable national park is home to 120 mammals, 350 bird species, reptiles, and a number butterflies and tree species. It is important to note;
Bwindi National Park, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a home to the endangered giant mountain gorillas and it covers about 321 square km between 1,160 meters and 2,600 meters above sea level. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has 4 gorilla tracking sectors that is Buhoma in the north, Ruhija in the east; Rushaga in the south and lastly Nkuringo in the south west. And with about 19 habituated gorilla families.
With this 3-day gorilla trekking safari to the impenetrable forest, you will transfer from either Entebbe or Kampala towards southern Uganda in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The highlight of the tour being Gorilla Trekking. While in the jungle of Bwindi, you are welcomed by the serenity of the untouched environment with eco atmospheres and whispers of primates and birds since Bwindi is a good biding haven.

Buhoma sector
We drive from Entebbe either through – Rukungiri via the Mbarara Highway via Kihihi to Buhoma
Ruhija sector – kabale – Kisoro Road plus many other routes that can be used.
Day 1 Transfer from Entebbe or Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Travel time from Kampala to Bwindi is 8 to 10 hours

After your early morning breakfast at the hotel or pick up from the airport depending on arrival you may transfer to Bwindi National Park. We shall make a stopover for lunch before reaching the lodge in the evening. We shall continue on our way to the park through the serene rolling plains and we may make a stopover at the equator.
Bwindi has 4 sectors for Gorilla trekking and you will be trekking the mountain gorillas from one of the sectors. That is Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo respectively.

Day 2 Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
You will be up by 6:00 am for a quick hot morning breakfast and at 6.30 am, transfer to your tracking Sector of Bwindi National Park. We shall meet the ranger/guides at the Information Centre for registration and briefing. You will be briefed about the guidelines of the gorilla trekking activity (experience), you will be given a gorilla group to trek. At this point in time you meet the ranger guide and trekking sets in the jungle tracking for the gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable forest. The sounds and melodies of birds praising the creator while on the trek. Explore the jungle for other wildlife such as monkeys, plants and singing birds. The Bwindi ranger guide make the trek interesting as they pass on more information in diversity of Bwindi Impenetrable forest, after a while trekking (trekking can take 1 to 4 hours or less before facing the gorillas) and tracking you will finally face the gorillas. You will observe the giant gorillas for one hour as they feed, relax in their habitat. This is the best time for photography moments as you are advised to carry your cameras with you. After the trekking experience you will head back to the park information center to pick your certificates. You will then meet your driver guide and transfer back to the lodge enjoying, overnight after your dinner.

Day 3 Transfer from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Kampala/Entebbe with a Stopover at the Equator
Travel time from Bwindi to Kampala is 9 to 10 hours drive
Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch
After your morning breakfast we shall drive towards Kampala/Entebbe through Uganda’s serene environment and rolling plains and country side. We will have a stopover for lunch in Mbarara town, a stop shall also be made at the Equator for the equator experience and souvenirs buying if you wish to. We shall then drive to Entebbe winding up your 3-day gorilla trekking experience in Uganda.

General Tips on your Gorilla safari:
- Health is key all trekkers as its key to have your safari and trek the gorillas in a heath condition. Usually clients with infectious diseases like flu are not allowed to track reason being it can easily affect the endangered gorillas.
- The age limit for gorilla tracking is 15 years and above.
- Booking of your gorilla and chimpanzee permits is done in advance in order for you not to miss out on the experience when permits are fully booked.
- A porter can be hired in case you want to be carried for trekking, bags. For the trekking porter or helper, a fee of US$ 15 is charged
- Your flash must be off during photography.
- The recommended distance between clients and gorillas is important for safety
- Bwindi in Rusahaga sector only has a small water fall called Bayenda falls although this is a different activity from our trek.
- Forest or nature walks are recommended
What to bring on your safari:
